Enchanting News as 90s Pop Sensation “Lolly” to Star in Beauty and the Beast Pantomime in Blackburn

Blackburn Empire Theatre is thrilled to announce that 90s pop sensation “Lolly” will be taking on the role of the Enchantress in Tom Rolfe’s production of Beauty and the Beast this Christmas.
After last year’s pantomime “Cinderella”, which was the theatre’s most successful panto ever, this year’s much-anticipated show will run from 25th November to 31st December 2023, and tickets are already on sale.

Lolly, known for her infectious pop hits and vibrant stage presence, rose to fame in the late 90s with chart-topping songs like “Hey Mickey” and “Big Boys Don’t Cry.” Now, she brings her undeniable talent and charisma to the Blackburn stage as she takes on the role of The Enchantress.

The Enchantress casts a powerful spell on the Beast and his castle. In her initial appearance, she disguises herself as an old woman and tests the prince’s character by offering him a rose in exchange for shelter. When he rejects her due to her appearance, she reveals her true form as a beautiful enchantress and punishes him by transforming him into a Beast and his servants into household objects.

The Enchantress’s spell can only be broken if the Beast learns to love and be loved in return before the last petal of the enchanted rose falls. Otherwise, he will remain a Beast forever.

With our Prince (or Beast) already announced as X Factor’s Johnny Wright, we can’t wait to bring you more exciting news in the coming weeks.

Beauty and the Beast promises to be a spectacular pantomime experience for the whole family. Audiences can expect a magical journey filled with captivating storytelling, dazzling costumes, and show-stopping musical numbers. Audiences can also look forward to incredible magic and laugh-a-minute comedy from the talented cast.

Don’t miss your chance to be part of this magical experience!
