Blackburn Empire Theatre was delighted to welcome members of Blesma, The Limbless Veterans back to the theatre this week for their slice of Snow White panto fun.
Blesma is a UK-based charity that supports serving and ex-service men and women who have lost limbs or the use of limbs, or their sight, speech or hearing, as well as their families and widows. The charity helps members rebuild their lives and live as independently as possible, offering practical, emotional and financial support throughout their journey.
After their visit to Snow White – Christmas Pantomime 2025, Blesma Outreach Officer for the North West, Catherine Green, shared some wonderful feedback about their experience:
“The Blesma members thoroughly enjoyed it – so funny and top class entertainment. The children were so invested and engaged so much, a lovely sight to see.”
She also sent a special thank you to William, one of Blackburn Empire’s amazing volunteers:
“Special thanks to the lovely William, who looked after us and made our booking in so easy and smooth. Such a nice young man.”
There was plenty of praise for the cast too, especially our Dame:
“Dame Tilly is the star of the show, really hope he/she is the Dame in Aladdin next year! Absolutely brilliant.”
And in true panto spirit, the visit brought out the big kid in everyone:
“I had a big butch Royal Marine sat next to me and he was shouting, booing, clapping and singing more than the kids were! Priceless. He got some stick off us but all great family fun.”
(We will keep that Marine’s name between us and the magic mirror… 😉)
Everyone at Blackburn Empire is proud to have hosted Blesma once again this year and to have shared an afternoon of laughter, music and proper panto mayhem with their members and families.
If you would like to find out more about the work Blesma does, you can visit their website at blesma.org.
Snow White continues at Blackburn Empire as the theatre’s biggest-ever panto, with more sold-out shows than ever before and only limited tickets remaining for the final performances.
If you would like to join us for the fairest pantomime of them all, we recommend booking as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
