The Empire Social Club at the Blackburn Empire Theatre held a special Macmillan Coffee Afternoon to help raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support – and the community certainly showed their support!
With delicious homemade cakes, endless cups of tea and coffee, and plenty of laughter and good company, the afternoon raised an incredible £450 (and counting!) to help Macmillan continue their vital work.
Macmillan’s mission says it best:
“We’re doing whatever it takes to help more people with cancer get the best care the UK has to offer, whoever and wherever they are.”
The event saw friends, families, and new faces come together for an afternoon of community, conversation, and caring — perfectly capturing the spirit of the Empire Social Club: Community • Friendship • Fun.
The Empire Social Club runs every Tuesday, 2pm – 4pm, and everyone is welcome to join in. Whether you fancy a game of Scrabble or dominoes, a friendly chat over a cuppa, or simply want to get out of the house and meet new people, there’s always something to enjoy.
A huge thank you to everyone who attended, donated, baked, or helped on the day — your kindness and generosity made a real difference.
☕ Join us next Tuesday from 2–4pm at Blackburn Empire Theatre for more friendship, laughter and community spirit — no booking needed, just turn up and join in!
