It was nearly ‘Ender the road’ for UK tour! 2 former Eastenders stars swap roles in comedy show.
Cheryl Fergison who played Heather Trott in Eastenders has pulled out of the UK tour of Mum’s the Word during rehearsals due to personal reasons. The producers, cast and creatives are devastated but fully support Cheryl in her decision.
Cheryl’s message to fans and ticket holders for the show cites: “There has been a lot happening lately that has led to me being unable to continue with Mum’s the Word. I am sad to not be spreading the joy of motherhood’s gifts and wish my fellow castmates a fantastic run. I am very happy to announce my fellow Eastend girl Laurie Brett will be taking over the role of Alison and I can’t think of a more suited person for the role! You’re going to laugh your socks off! I wish the show a great run and to all ‘Mums the Word” – Cheryl Fergison
Fergison has been replaced by her former co-star Laurie Brett who played Ian Beales wife in the popular BBC soap. Brett is currently learning the lines for the hugely popular touring production “Mum’s The Word”.
Brett shares: “I am excited to be joining Mum’s The Word sharing the comedy of the rollercoaster ride that is motherhood to parents around the country. I fully support Cheryl’s decision and I am looking forward to bringing my version of Alison to the tour” – Laurie Brett
A spokesperson for the Producers of the show, Red Entertainment said “It’s been a long few days replacing Cheryl but we are delighted Laurie has stepped in, she has been a true pro and we are sure ticket holders will be delighted to see Laurie on stage”.
Mum’s The Word is a hilarious and sentimental comedy, touring to theatres across the country this Autumn.
