About the show
Dust off your flying carpet and take a trip to Twankey’s Laundry as Aladdin comes to Blackburn Empire Theatre for Christmas 2026 in a brand new pantomime adventure.
This latest production from Tom Rolfe Productions is packed with comedy, chaos, a magical Genie, and plenty of audience participation – everything you’d expect from a proper Blackburn panto.
Leading the cast is Stee Leahy as Tilly Twankey, Blackburn’s favourite dame, bringing the laughs, the chaos and more costume changes than anyone can keep track of.
Erin-Joy Laffan joins the cast as The Spirit of the Ring, following last year’s wicked turn in a very different role.
A familiar face to Empire audiences, Mick Liversidge appears as The Emperor of Laundryland, bringing plenty of personality to the stage.
Taking on the title role, Blackburn favourite Richard Dawes is your Aladdin – funny, handsome, and very likely getting himself into trouble early on.
Alongside him, Naomi Dale appears as Princess Jasmine, bringing the sparkle, the style and a steady hand among the madness.
And lighting up the stage as The Genie of the Lamp is Nathaniel Elechi – full of energy, big presence, and yes… a Genie with moves.
With a full supporting cast bringing all the music, dance, singalong, laughalong, non-stop fun you’d expect, this is a show the whole family can enjoy.
More fun. More performances. Great value for the whole family, with free parking, great views, and a proper close-to-the-action theatre experience.
So what are you waiting for? Make a trip to the Empire Theatre one of your three wishes this Christmas.
