Update from The Blackburn Empire Theatre – Coronavirus

Updated 29th March 2020

We wanted to keep you in touch with the changing position with regards to The Blackburn Empire Theatre based on the latest government advice. Whilst we had hoped to give you a target date for re-opening the Theatre, in the circumstances, we will only reopen when the government issues clear guidance that it is safe to do so. The safety of our customers, supporters, volunteers and staff, as always must come first.

During this time, we are working with our artists, promoters and event organisers to reschedule all events wherever possible.

Please be reassured that ticket holders will be contacted directly, and we ask that customers do not call or email Blackburn Empire Theatre until further information is given. We are working very hard behind the scenes and rest-assured you will be contacted about any shows you may have booked for.

This is a very difficult time for everyone. Blackburn Empire Theatre is a charity and almost all of our funding comes from people coming to see our shows, spending money on tickets, drinks and refreshments. In the unlikely situation that your show cannot be rescheduled, please consider donating the cost of your ticket rather than requesting a credit or refund and wait for updates about any specific shows you may have booked.

Whilst we continue to follow Government advice please stay safe and we look forward to welcoming you back to The Blackburn Empire Theatre soon.
