A show paying tribute to Green Day and their pop-punk style hits is coming to the Thwaites Empire Theatre later this year.
Join the dynamic cast of American Idiot as they charge into a whirlwind of love, addiction and broken dreams in search of meaning in a cruel and lonely world.
The show, which features every song from Green Day’s American Idiot album and several others from their follow-up release 21st Century Breakdown, takes place at the entertainment venue from Wednesday, 5th October until Saturday, 8th October 2016.
The show produced by ‘Inspire to Discover’, a new company set up to provide opportunities to talented young people, delivers a strong social message to an intense soundtrack.
Olivia Lalude-Howorth, producer of the production American Idiot, became addicted to musical theatre after watching a production of Annie at the Thwaites Empire Theatre aged 10, she said: “It’s an independent production bringing together actors aged 16-26 from all over the North West. Several of the cast have won regional performance awards. It’s a story of rage, love and loss and it’s set to be a great evening of entertainment.”
The show is suitable for those aged 16 and over.
