Stringfever, the ‘world’s first genetically modified string quartet’, travel to Blackburn Empire Theatre this March with their signature stage show, featuring ‘The History of Music in 5 Minutes’, ‘The Very Best of Tchaikovsky’, their ‘Motown Tribute’ as well as old favourites, ‘Ravel’s Bolero’ and ‘The Devil Went Downtown Georgia’.
This highly entertaining quartet of brothers (and one cousin), Giles, Ralph, Graham and Neal, have completed 17 tours of the USA during the last 10 years; using electric instruments to create their own unique sound, Stringfever combine exceptional musical skill with a talent for engaging audiences, to create a show that’s funny frantic and frenetic.
Coming from a family of musicians it was always likely that the Broadbent boys were going to follow their fathers into the music profession. Giles and Ralph both studied at the Royal Academy of Music and Graham at the Royal College. Giles went on to lead the orchestras for several West End shows, including Sunset Boulevard, Phantom of the Opera and My Fair Lady. The youngest brother, Neal, was due to study at the Guildhal School of Music but instead he was kidnapped by his brothers to be the cellist in their group – Stringfever!
Playful, witty and endlessly inventive, they take the audience on a journey through the history of music rounded off by their famous ‘forty tunes in five minutes’ finale.
Be prepared to be wowed by their show truly unique show.
