Take a chance on new ABBA tribute at Blackburn Theatre

DANCING queens are in for the night of their lives as a new Abba tribute concert lands at the Thwaites Empire Theatre.

A two-hour theatre spectacular featuring all of Abba’s greatest and most memorable hits takes centre stage with a string of records on Saturday, 30th January.

‘Thank ABBA For The Music’ is the ultimate tribute concert capturing all the magic and excitement of one of the world’s most successful and entertaining live bands.

The show, popular with Abba fans across the country, features superb vocals and clever Abba trademark harmonies throughout, replica stage costumes, a light sprinkling of tongue-in-cheek Swedish humour and plenty of audience participation.

The show has attracted the attention of star Nicky Stevens from Brotherhood of Man, the band who won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1976, he said: “Never felt so close to the real Abba. The girl’s harmonies were superb.”

Hits performed by the band on the night include Dancing Queen, Waterloo, Mamma Mia and Take a Chance on Me.

The seven-piece band is backed throughout by interactive video projection which, at regular points, depicts key moments throughout Abba’s musical career together with clips of interviews from celebrities and music experts alike.

Take a journey back in time to when Abba dominated the charts and book to see this spectacular on Saturday, 30th January, 2016 at 7:30 pm. Tickets cost £18.50 and are now on-sale at www.thwaitesempiretheatre.co.uk or call the booking office on 01254 685500 Monday to Saturday 10am – 12.30pm.
