Swing to the music at the Empire

Five musicians are set to rock the stage at the Thwaites Empire Theatre with a show packed full of 1940s classics, a sprinkling of boogie-woogie and some jump jazz.

The Swing Commanders, who are renowned for performing 1940s American swing tunes and songs containing elements of jazz, country and western swing, take centre stage on Sunday, 10th January.

Every member of the Swing Commanders sings and plays at least one instrument, sometimes three, yet what makes them stand out is their musical ability.

As one of the most sought-after acts on the national circuit, the Swing Commanders are really the cats with the cream of Forties classics with their wide-ranging repertoire, which includes firm favourites such as Orange Blossom Special, Minnie the Moocher, In the Mood and King of the Swingers.

The Clitheroe ensemble have enjoyed another spectacular year, playing a variety of gigs and festivals on the local and international circuit.

Tickets cost £10 – £12 and are now available online at www.thwaitesempiretheatre.co.uk or from the booking office 01254 685500 Monday to Friday 10.30am – 12.30pm.
