Blackburn Musical Theatre Company’s spectacular production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast opened this weekend at the Blackburn Empire Theatre — and what a magical premiere it was.
The audience was treated to dazzling costumes, stunning vocals, and unforgettable performances that brought this “tale as old as time” to life. A standing ovation closed the show on opening night, with multiple performances already sold out — and glowing reviews pouring in.
“You were all amazing – what voices, dancing and music, wow just incredible,” wrote audience member Katherine Gosling.
“Such a fantastic performance by all. Can’t wait to see it again Saturday night,” added Yvonne Garner.
Tracy Wharf called it “a fantastic show” with “superb” cast and “hilarious” moments.
This lavish production features Leanne Wharf as Belle and Matt Whatley as The Beast, supported by a stellar cast including Paddy Darnell-Walsh as Gaston, Dawn-Marie Nicholls as Mrs Potts, and Edward Munday as Maurice. The enchanted castle springs to life with Lumiere (Matthew Garnerbundy-Higgs), Cogsworth (Kris Wlodarczyk), Madame de la Grande Bouche (Brenda Murray), and Babette (Laura Ashworth).
Behind the magic is the talented creative team of directors Tony Fry and Gary H Worthy, choreographer Katie Fry, and musical director Nick Sanders.
There’s still time to be our guest — but hurry, tickets are selling fast.
