Show-Stopping Summer Academy Week

BUDDING performers looking to improve their confidence, musicality and style are invited to take part in a summer workshop at Blackburn’s biggest community theatre.

The Thwaites Empire Theatre have teamed up with Pendle Productions to bring aspiring performers, dancers, singers and actors a five-day musical theatre masterclass.

Musical Theatre Week, which runs from Monday, 1st August to Friday, 5th August 2016 provides youngster with an opportunity to develop their performance and technical production skills.

From singing and dancing to working on the set design, lighting and sound, there will be a range of opportunities for those aged 7-18 years.

Following the success of ‘The Peanuts Movie’, this year’s masterclass will focus on the Broadway hit ‘You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown’.

To round off the activity week, there will be a forty-minute West End or Broadway theatre presentation on Friday, 5th August.

Chairman of the Thwaites Empire Theatre, Michael Berry, said: “These weeks provide youngsters with an insight into the musical theatre industry whilst improving essential skills. The Summer Academy Activity Weeks have proved popular in the past. We recommend booking in advance to reserve a space.”

Places for the workshop cost £110 and are strictly limited. For further information, call the booking office on 01254 685500 or to download the application pack here.
