Sad news about Michael Perkins

It is with great sadness that we have to inform you all of the sudden death of Michael Perkins.

Michael passed away peacefully on Sunday the 7th June at the age of 80.

Michael was well known at the Empire Theatre because of his work as a volunteer. He was a jovial man and always had a smile and a good word for everybody around him.

Michael was a regular and valuable worker for the Theatre and was a reliable and a friendly face for all the different audiences that he dealt with.

He was a volunteer at the Empire for at least the last 5 years and with his wife Barbara who was also a volunteer, could fit in with any task given to him.

Not only did he give his time to us, he also gave time to the East Lancashire Hospice and also Derian House. A real charitable man who we can all be proud of.

He made many friends wherever he went and spent many years at Oakhill College and other places of his work.

We will miss Michael tremendously.

On behalf of everyone connected with the Blackburn Empire Theatre we send our sympathies to Barbara and family at this sad time.

Donations can be sent to the East Lancashire Hospice OR  Derian House.

Michael Berry
Chairman
Blackburn Empire Theatre.
