We had some further bad news this week regarding one of our stalwart volunteers at the Theatre.
Ernest Brindle, well known here as Ernie, passed away on Monday the 28th of November suddenly.
Ernie was 82 years old and had suffered for some time with a foot problem, which he bore with great Spirit.
He was one of our long term supporters and volunteers and was always game for a laugh. He even made a dazzling stage appearance in the past dressed as one of the Three Degrees. It brought the house down.
I believe that Ernie was a very good amateur footballer playing for teams including Darwen FC.
I personally enjoyed his company and in the last few years we discussed and suffered regularly the downward path that our beloved Blackburn Rovers had been following.
Ernie will be sadly missed.
