The children’s classic Pinocchio comes to the Thwaites Empire Theatre this half term in a sparkling family show adaptation featuring an all-star cast, songs, dance and magic.
Based on the original story by Collodi, made famous by the 1950s classic Disney cartoon, the story centres on a living puppet who must prove himself worthy of being a real boy.
Andi Mac, as seen on ITV’s Penn and Teller is the creative who has given this traditional tale a modern twist in which all of the favourite characters are brought to life in the heart-warming story of how good overcomes bad.
Andi leads an amazing cast featuring some of the North’s best actors, ex-professional jockey Paddy Merrigan, illusionist Michael Diamond, and with 80’s Singer Owen Paul making a special appearance this is a show not to be missed.
The show opens on Sunday 24th May with an afternoon performance at 4pm, with further family friendly showings on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at 2pm. Tickets are £10 for adults and £5 children.
Chairman, Michael Berry said, ‘We’ve listened to our audiences and the large number of families with children who access the theatre and engage with our performing arts facilities every week. We are slowly building our programme to introduce family-friendly entertainment at affordable prices throughout the year. The Magic Of Pinocchio is an enchanting tale for all the family and a show that children will love.’
