I hope that you are all having a great summer even though the weather is not the best.
This time of the year at the Theatre the main shows are dance presentations with just a few exceptions in August with Joe Longthorne making a very welcome return and a brilliant Elvis tribute by Paul Molloy.
A wonderful surprise greeted me a couple of weeks ago when a local businessman called to see me and told me about a recent visit he made to the theatre to see “South Pacific” performed by the Blackburn Music Theatre company. He heard our latest appeal for help to pay for the roof repairs prior to the show and then he was blown away by the standard of the show. Because of the great night he had and also his satisfaction of his previous visits he kindly made a donation to the Theatre of a magnificent £1500.
He also related to me how some of his relations were involved in the then Blackburn Amateurs. (That’s not a clue to his identity).
He is a very successful and also modest man and he prefers to remain anonymous. So thank you Mr X for your affection for The Thwaites Empire Theatre and thank you for being so generous.
Looking forward to the last third of the year we have a very vibrant and varied shows for you and thanks to our marketing team you will see news in the local media, facebook, Twitter etc.
Looking forward to seeing you all in the Theatre soon.
