The Thwaites Empire Theatre has announced a new date for the UK’s longest-running tribute to Roxy Music and Bryan Ferry.
Due to theatre repairs at the venue, Roxy Magic’s performance on Friday, 20th May was postponed and has now been rescheduled to take centre stage at the Blackburn Empire on Saturday, 18th June.
This band of experienced and talented musicians recreate the diverse music and imagery of the hugely influential Roxy Music and pop icon Bryan Ferry. All the hits are performed with panache to deliver an exciting and highly entertaining tribute.
Singer Kevin Hackett is a huge Bryan Ferry fan and bears an uncanny resemblance to Ferry both visually and vocally. He has honed a stage presence which has received wide praise from fans of the original.
Some even believe that Kevin sounds like Ferry, even when performing songs by other artists.
Chris Garfield plays guitar, Robbie Tabrett plays saxophone, Mark Schlotel plays the bass, Rick Purcell performs on keyboards and Simon Atkins is behind the drum kit.
Roxy Magic perform their set of best remembered Roxy Music hits totally live, believing it to be more dynamic than playing with the aid of backing tracks.
Because of the unique range of Roxy Music and Bryan Ferry’s music, from art rock to disco, 30s ballads to rock ’n’ roll and ultimately the smooth sophistication of Avalon, the set has a great deal to offer.
Remember and enjoy Virginia Plain, Avalon, Dance Away, Street Life, Love Is The Drug and Let’s Stick Together along with a host of massive hits and proven live favourites.
The show starts at 7.30pm.
