One of Blackburn’s volunteer-run theatres is encouraging the local community to host special anniversaries, children’s parties or charity fundraisers at the venue.
Thwaites Empire Theatre, situated on Aqueduct Road in Blackburn, is a traditional venue suitable for a whole host of events with full staffing and a bar area to create an event to remember.
The charity theatre, which opened its door in 2002, has attracted thousands of visitors across the country to watch a range of shows including amateur performances, comedy shows and pantomime.
Chairman of Thwaites Empire Theatre, Michael Berry, said: “We just want to put the theatre on the map as a place available to hire for special events.
“The theatre which is a focal point for amateur arts and entertainment in the borough can be hired during the day for as little as £35 per hour with full technical support and stewarding.
“There are two bar areas, which can also be hired for events and private parties. It’s a cosy and compact theatre seating up to 330.”
The theatre has rehearsal rooms and dressing rooms with full stage lighting and sounding available as well as video projection for DVD and PowerPoint presentations.
