Jump Jazz Magic with The Swing Commanders

Due to popular demand, The Swing Commanders will be returning to Blackburn next year with a sprinkling of boogie-woogie and some jump jazz.

Six musicians renowned for performing 1940s American swing tunes and songs containing elements of jazz, country and western swing will return to Thwaites Empire Theatre on Monday, 13th January 2017.

Every member of the Swing Commanders sings and plays at least one instrument, sometimes three, yet what makes them stand out is their musical ability.

The band are really the cats with the cream of Forties classics with their wide-ranging repertoire, which includes firm favourites such as Orange Blossom Special, Minnie the Moocher, In the Mood and King of the Swingers.

Michael Berry, Chairman of the Thwaites Empire Theatre, said: “We are delighted one of the most sought-after acts on the national circuit, The Swing Commanders, will be bringing a dash of jazz to the Empire next year. Don’t miss out, book your tickets in advance and swing away to an evening of jazz and western music.”

The Clitheroe ensemble regularly play a variety of gigs and festivals on the local and international circuit.

Tickets cost £10 – £12 and are now available online here or from the booking office 01254 685500 Monday to Friday 10.30am – 12.30pm.
