It was sad to learn of the death of the bestselling novelist Josephine Cox who passed away yesterday at the age of 82. Josephine was a remarkable woman who was born in Blackburn was one of 10 children and among many successes beside the 60 books that she had published, was that she once won the “Superwoman of Great Britain” award.
She was a lovely lady, whom I had the pleasure of meeting on occasions and who helped to raise money for the Empire Theatre in the early days, with her visits which included a show that she gave for us “An evening with Josephine Cox” which was an excellent fundraising effort.
Many will have happy memories of this event and her deep seated love of the town.
She was a true star from Blackburn.
