Halloween is approaching meaning there’s lots of wicked fun to be had for children at the Thwaites Empire Theatre with a line-up of spooky stories and special effects.
Pendle Productions has teamed up with the entertainment venue for another year to offer themed activity weeks, which begin later this month.
‘Adventure in the Arts’ taster days launch the packed programme on Tuesday, 27th and Wednesday, 28th October with spooky stories in the build up to Halloween, a special effects studio, stage fighting and stunt work.
The next fun-filled week takes place over the 2016 Easter holidays when the ever-popular ‘Play in a Week’ returns to the theatre for an intense week of creative challenges with a full play performance at the end of the week.
The final part of the programme takes place during the 2016 summer holidays when the ‘Summer Academy Weeks’ return for three weeks of fun-filled activities on Monday, 1st August. The first academy week gives children the opportunity to work with professional performers, directors and choreographers from international theatre with a grand finale to finish. The second week will feature Animation and Movie making skills with the third and final week focusing on pantomime skills with a performance of the classic Peter Pan.
Michael Berry, chairman of the Theatre said, “We are really looking forward to the Activity Academy Weeks which bring the theatre to life with a buzz of creativity and it is great to see such talented youngsters having such fun at the same time.”
