Enjoy a Big Night Out With ‘The Big O’

A TRIBUTE act to legendary singer Roy Orbison is set to delight audiences at The Thwaites Empire Theatre on Friday, 18th March.

This year, would have been Roy Orbison’s 80th birthday and to celebrate this, Barry Steele and his band have created a brand new production featuring the greatest hits of the rock legend.

Orbison, nicknamed The Big O, was known for his trademark sunglasses and distinctive voice. Some of his most famous songs include Pretty Woman, Only The Lonely and Crying, which were released during the 1960s.

The rock legend enjoyed a successful solo career spanning two decades before he joined the Travelling Wilburys supergroup with George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne in 1988.

Orbison died in 1998 but Barry Steele is widely recognised as one of the world’s greatest Orbison tribute acts.

The tribute show with Barry Steele and friends takes the audience on a musical journey in time from the early sun year’s right through to the late 80’s.

‘Roy Orbison and Friends’ also features the music of the stars who really did tour and perform with Roy.

Tickets for the show cost £19 and are available here or call the booking office on 01254 685500.  Monday – Saturday 10am – 12.30pm.
