A message from Michael Berry – Charimain of Blackburn Empire Theatre
Thank you for your patience over the months of lockdown.
It is a terrible time for all of us and I thought that as Chairman of this wonderful community Theatre, I would write to you regarding the Theatre’s position just now.
At the moment, we have no staff, as the five people that we employ are not working as they are furloughed, so things have been difficult in terms of administering communications and contacts from individuals.
We have had some support from our marketing company, to enable us to continue to advertise shows in the future, as income is vital to the survival of our Theatre.
With these limited resources, we are re-scheduling most shows and your tickets will be valid for the new dates. Again, you can probably imagine how complicated a task this is, as we have to work with a wide range of artists and promoters and getting schedules to “line-up”.
Following the email I have sent to you, I would ask that you may consider:
• retaining your tickets for the rescheduled dates
• donating some or all of your ticket purchase to the Theatre
• consider accepting a credit voucher, that can be used to book any show at the Theatre over the coming 12 months.
Opting for one of these would help our small community theatre in these difficult times.
