Have a Cracking Time at Easter Theatre Week

With Easter holidays on the horizon, there’s an opportunity for children and young people to create a piece of theatre in a week.

Pendle Productions and the Thwaites Empire Theatre are offering youngsters the chance to develop, devise, rehearse and perform a play under the guidance of a professional director.

Throughout the week, the group will develop their writing, drama and improvisation skills whilst preparing for a performance on stage at the professional theatre venue.

The activity week, is suitable for 7-18 year olds and runs from Monday, 11th April to Thursday, 14th April.
Artistic Director, Tim Lince explained, ‘This is an intense week, full of creative and physical challenges. Everything from devising, rehearsing and performing the final show will be done in just four days. As well as learning new skills and gaining confidence, children will come away having great friends and experienced the thrill of working in a professional theatre.’

The ‘Play in a Week’ initiative is part of the Adventure in the Arts workshops which take place at the venue throughout the year.

Workshops begin on Monday, 11th April from 9.30am to 5pm each day, with registration from 9am. The final show takes place on Thursday, 14th April at 6pm. The cost of the full week is £90 per person with a discount of 25% for every second or third child.
