Brothers recreate the Everlys

The Thwaites Empire Theatre continues its programme of top tribute artists this month with the Temple Brothers who bring an evening of music dedicated to The Everly Brothers. Featuring big hits such as ‘Crying in the Rain, ‘Cathy’s Clown’ and ‘All I have to do is Dream’.

During their musical career the Everly Brothers had 35 Billboard Top-100 singles, 26 in the top 40.  According to musical history books, John Lennon and Paul McCartney called themselves ‘the English Everly Brothers’ when Paul and John went hitch-hiking south to win a talent competition.  The harmonies in the Beatles hit, ‘Please, Please Me’ are said to be based around the vocal arrangement of Cathy’s Clown.

Chairman, Michael Berry said, ‘It’s the distinct harmonies that make the music of the Everlys so memorable.  Being brothers themselves, the harmonies of The Temple Brothers are truly flawless, with live acoustic guitars they are pleasure to listen to.’
The Temple Brothers come to the Empire Theatre on Friday 20th February at 7.30pm and tickets are £15.
