Boogie back in time with ABBA tribute

Fans of ABBA can look forward to a Happy New Year with the announcement that a popular band paying tribute to the fantastic four is coming to the Thwaites Empire Theatre on Friday, 27th January.

Grab a pair of platforms and flares for a journey back in time to when ABBA dominated the charts and ruled the airwaves during a two-hour theatre spectacular featuring all of greatest and most memorable hits.

‘Thank Abba for the Music’ captures all the magic and excitement of one of the world’s most successful and entertaining live bands.

With trademark harmonies throughout, stunning replica stage costumes and a light sprinkling of tongue-in-cheek Swedish humour, the show has received rave reviews in recent years.

The show has attracted the attention of star Nicky Stevens from Brotherhood of Man, the band who won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1976, he said: “Never felt so close to the real Abba. The girl’s harmonies were superb.”

The seven-piece band is backed throughout by interactive video projection which depicts key moments throughout ABBA’s musical career together with clips of interviews from celebrities and music experts.

All of ABBA’s greatest hits will be performed on the night including Dancing Queen, Waterloo, Mamma Mia and Take A Chance On Me.

Show organisers are encouraging the audience to come in 70s fancy dress to add to the party atmosphere.

Tickets cost £18.50 and are now on-sale here or call the booking office on 01254 685500 Monday to Saturday 10am – 12.30pm.
