Following a difficult 18 months for The Blackburn Empire Theatre, the board is pleased to announce the appointment of a new director to the voluntary Board of Directors.
Janet Stonham, who has worked for the Theatre for over 11 years and has vast experience of the operation of the theatre, was recently appointed by the board.
Michael Berry, Chairman of the Theatre, said:
“Janet will be a great asset to the Board of Directors. After a very difficult time for the theatre during the extended lockdowns we suffered, Janet rose to the new challenges we faced with vigour and purpose. She is forward thinking and a popular member of the team at The Empire.
“The board wanted to add a new board member who possessed a detailed knowledge of the operation and potential of the theatre and Janet fitted the bill perfectly.
“The whole board would like to thank Janet for accepting the offer and we look forward to working with her in the future.”
Blackburn Empire Theatre is a charity and is looking forward to expanding their offering with a more diverse range of arts and entertainment for the local area over the coming years.
