April in Paris with a good helping of Northern Humour

One of John Godber’s most loved comedy plays with be bringing a touch of “je ne sais quoi” to Blackburn this month.

The Little Diamond Theatre Company are touring their production of “April in Paris” and audiences can enjoy the production at the Empire Theatre, Blackburn for a three-night run from Tuesday 21st March.

Journey with Al and Bet to Paris on their first trip abroad, and watch them navigating their way around the famous sights – with aching feet, confusing maps and a not very useful phrasebook. It’s a touching and sweet story with moments of poignancy and a big dose of Northern humour – guaranteed to give you a good giggle.

Starring actor and comedian Toby Hadoke and Sarah Burrill, the founder of the Little Diamond Theatre Company, the show takes the couple from their humdrum life to the glamour of Paris, after Bet wins a competition in “Romantic Breaks” magazine.

Toby is well known face on the comedy circuit and for his appearances on TV from Emmerdale to Coronation Street and Casualty to Holby City.

Sarah created the Little Diamond Theatre Company, which has gathered a great reputation for their production of plays including their tour of “September in the Rain” in 2016.

Chairman of the Empire Theatre, Michael Berry, said, “We are delighted to be welcoming the cast and production team for April in Paris to the Empire. We are looking forward to three great nights of entertainment and more than a few laughs along the way.”
